Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all traffic laws, regulations, road signs and related information.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate the bus and conduct pre-trip inspections.
• Visual and auditory acuity within normal ranges.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives a school bus on designated routes during school days.
• Transports students and staff on field trips.
• Inspects bus daily prior to operation to ensure it is safe and clean.
• Cleans and refuels bus as needed.
• Reports mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations, or accidents promptly.
• Maintains order and discipline following district policies.
• Monitors route timing and records as required for efficiency.
• Ensures no child is left unattended on the bus and all have exited at stops.
