Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools in Jonesboro, GA is hiring a Bus Driver for a full-time position with PAID CDL TRAINING and immediate start. You will provide safe, on-time transportation for students to and from schools and related activities.

Requirements include being 21 years or older, a High School Diploma or GED, a current Georgia driver’s license, a seven-year MVR review, a clean driving record, and successful completion of CCPS training, physical, and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a current, valid Georgia driver's license.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must successfully complete school bus driver training.
• Candidates undergo criminal background check.
• Minimum of three consecutive years driving experience.
• Physical examination and drug/alcohol testing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous bus transportation to and from school including extra activities and field trips.
• Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish safety procedures to maintain order and discipline while transporting students.
• Maintain routes and planned schedules provided by the Department.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and special equipment.
• Adhere to policies and procedures for loading and unloading students.
• Attend safety training, staff development, QBI inspections, and departmental meetings.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and fuel the bus as needed.
• Maintain good record keeping and submit all reports timely.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills and report incidents promptly.
