POSITION: School Bus Driver

REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation or designee

LOCATION: Division of Supporting Services

SALARY: The salary for this position will be based on EASMC-ESP salary schedule for Bus Drivers and Bus Attendants 10-month 7-hour employees - Range 10 ($26,746 - $40,454).

NATURE OF WORK

This position is responsible for operating a school bus and transporting students.

Essential Functions

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive assigned bus routes, in-county or out-of-county
• Transport students on field trips as needed
• Drive in emergencies as needed
• Complete written reports for accidents
• Maintain order on the bus
• Assist with restraining students if required
• Help load and unload students
• Administer first aid if needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be a certified bus driver for St. Mary's County Public Schools
• Possess a valid Class B commercial driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements
• Pass a Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration physical exam

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT

Full-time, ten-month position.

SALARY GRADE RANGE

Based on the EASMC-ESP salary schedule for ten-month, 7-hour employees - Range 10.
