Job summary

SOUTHWEST BUS SERVICES in Livingston, WI seeks a reliable School Bus Driver to safely transport students along established routes, adhering to schedules and safety rules. Base pay is $20.80 per hour. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain discipline on board, and support a positive school community as part of daily

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug test and DOT Physical.

• Assists with loading and unloading of the bus when required.
• Maintain a clean vehicle.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

Description

This position provides safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school following a scheduled route while ensuring passenger safety. Drivers must exercise skill and judgment in a safe, reliable and courteous manner while operating a school bus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Observes traffic and weather conditions to ensure passenger safety.
• Safely transports students following the planned route and schedule for departure time and stops.
• Addresses student misconduct immediately to ensure the safety of all students while maintaining professionalism.
• Reports delays, accidents, emergencies, and maintenance needs.
• Regularly checks vehicle safety, such as tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment, etc. before and after each trip.
• Enforces conduct and safety rules while on the bus.
• Responds to emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Assists with loading and unloading of the bus when required.
• Maintain a clean vehicle.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

Requirements

A successful school bus driver should enjoy working with children and strictly observe passenger transport regulations. In addition, the school bus driver’s highest priorities should be passenger safety and vehicle inspections.

• Must successfully pass pre-employment drug test and DOT Physical.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, employees, and managers.
• CDL license required, along with the passenger and school bus endorsement.
• Must have a commendable driving record.
