Job summary

Moore County Schools Transportation in Carthage, NC is seeking a Bus Driver to safely transport students on approved routes. Immediate starting date; 10-month term; pay grade 51; non-exempt status. Requires NC CDL with endorsements, Bus Driver Pocket Card, DOT drug/alcohol testing, and clean driving record.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, student safety, adherence to laws and district policies, and timely reporting to the Transportation Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must possess and maintain a NC commercial driver’s license with endorsements and a Bus Drivers Pocket Card.
• Must pass DOT drug and alcohol testing and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proficiency in driving skills.
• Completes all reports related to transportation.
• Ensures safety and care of students boarding, riding, and departing the school bus.
• Maintains a high standard of student conduct at all times.
• Transports only authorized students and reports safety infractions.

Skills

Six months driving experience

Must be 18 years old

No DWI conviction

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

North Carolina commercial driver’s license with endorsements
