Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor, operate a school bus over designated routes in accordance with time schedules; pick up and discharge students; provide safe and efficient transportation for District students to and from school, special events and field trips; perform daily inspections and maintenance of vehicle; assist in the loading and unloading of handicapped students as necessary; perform related duties as assigned.
Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities required for this position; minimum of two years of experience in the operation of a motor vehicle.
Knowledge of: California State Motor Vehicle Code and Education Code applicable to the operation of vehicles transporting students; knowledge of safe driving practices.
Ability to: understand and follow verbal and written instructions; maintain routine records; establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators and the general public; lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Possession of a valid Class A or B California Driver license with Passenger Endorsement and current, Type 1 California School Bus Drivers certificate, medical certificate, first aid certification.
Bending, pushing, and lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds. After an offer of employment is made, the selected candidate will be required to pass a physical exam before beginning the assignment. Candidates may be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a condition for employment.

- CA School Bus Driver certificate
- First Aid certificate
- T-01 (training certificate)
- Current H-6 DMV printout - dated within the last 30 days
10 months per year; follows student calendar.
