Job summary

Suffolk Transportation in Bay Shore, NY is seeking a School Bus Driver to safely operate a school bus on a daily route and ensure passenger safety and security.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, assist students including those with disabilities, follow all laws and company policies, and maintain order on board.

Free CDL training is available for qualified candidates, with full-time or part-time shifts and benefits including medical, PTO, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Pre-employment physical including a DOT medical card and DOT drug screening.
• Must be at least 23 years old.
• No convictions for driving with license suspended or revoked.
• Availability to work varying shifts; assignments based on seniority.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Operate the school bus safely and efficiently.
• Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, secured bus.
• Report maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain schedules and onboard order.
• Transport students according to routes and schedules; take attendance.
• Assist passengers with disabilities during boarding, riding, exiting.
• Communicate with dispatch via two-way radio; report issues.
