Job summary

Summit School Services’ Driver Evaluator role in Lawson, MO, involves documenting driver competency using company standards and promoting safety. The position primarily covers home-to-school routes with additional driver assessments as part of the safety program.

The role requires a 21+ age, a valid CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements, DOT medical certification, and clean MVR history. You will evaluate drivers, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to regulations while supporting safety

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or age required by state law.
• Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements required
• Current DOT medical certification; First Aid certificate if required by state; and school bus driver’s certificate for applicable state.
• No moving violations or chargeable accidents on MVR within a 3-year history.
• Compliance with all applicable company, federal, state, county, district, and contract specific Driver requirements.
• Must meet company driver training standards, company driver evaluator standards, and company driver coaching standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a school bus to provide home-to-school services and trips.
• Participate in onsite recruiting or job fairs and assist in the hiring cycle.
• Conduct evaluations of new and existing drivers and training sessions.
• Maintain driver files following company standards and best practices.
• Support safety culture through monthly safety meetings.
• Assist with safety awareness programs and company-sponsored safety initiatives.
• Assess employees' driving abilities and provide constructive feedback.
• May conduct retraining for drivers as needed.
• Maintain and conduct driver evaluations following company standards.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal driving regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in driving laws and best practices.
• Exhibit ethical conduct and integrity and report concerns.
• Other duties as assigned
