Job summary

Summit School Services is seeking a part‑time Driver Evaluator to document driver competency and developmental needs, promoting safety and compliance across routes. The role focuses on home‑to‑school services, field trips, and driver training within a safety‑minded program.

The position requires a CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements, DOT medical certification, and strong communication skills. Location is Dearborn Heights, MI with opportunities to contribute to safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional teaching or transportation education is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a school bus to provide home-to-school, field trips, or charter trips.
• Participate in onsite recruiting or job fairs and assist in the hiring process.
• Conduct and document driver evaluations, classroom and behind-the-wheel training.
• Maintain driver files per company standards.
• Support safety culture through monthly meetings.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Provide feedback to drivers and conduct retraining if needed.
