SOUTHWEST BUS SERVICES is hiring a School Bus Driver to transport students to and from school on a scheduled route, prioritizing safety and vehicle inspections. The role requires maintaining a safe, courteous, and on-time service while adhering to all transport regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities include observing traffic conditions, safely transporting students, handling misconduct, reporting incidents, and keeping the bus clean and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• CDL required to drive school buses with passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain).
• DOT medical card and pre-employment drug test required.
• Strong communication and reliability essential.

Responsabilités

• Safely transports students following the planned route and schedule.
• Addresses student misconduct immediately to ensure safety and maintain professionalism.
• Reports delays, accidents, emergencies, and maintenance needs.
• Regularly checks vehicle safety before and after trips (tires, brakes, signals).
• Enforces conduct and safety rules while on the bus.
• Responds to emergencies and non-emergencies.
• Assists with loading and unloading of the bus when required.
• Maintains a clean vehicle.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

• Base Pay $20.80 / Hour

This position provides safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school following a scheduled route while ensuring passenger safety. Drivers must exercise skill and judgment in a safe, reliable and courteous manner while operating a school bus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Observes traffic and weather conditions to ensure passenger safety.


• Safely transports students following the planned route and schedule for departure time and stops.


• Addresses student misconduct immediately to ensure the safety of all students while maintaining professionalism.


• Reports delays, accidents, emergencies, and maintenance needs.


• Regularly checks vehicle safety, such as tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment, etc. before and after each trip.


• Enforces conduct and safety rules while on the bus.


• Responds to emergency and non-emergency situations.


• Assists with loading and unloading of the bus when required.


• Maintain a clean vehicle.


• Performs other duties as necessary.

A successful school bus driver should enjoy working with children and strictly observe passenger transport regulations. In addition, the school bus driver’s highest priorities should be passenger safety and vehicle inspections.

• Must successfully pass pre-employment drug test and DOT Physical.


• Ability to effectively communicate with students, employees, and managers.


• Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license, along with the passenger and school bus endorsement.


• Must have a commendable driving record.


• Experience working with children preferred.


• Attendance, punctuality, and consistency is expected.
