Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a part-time school bus driver to transport students to and from school and on field trips. The driver ensures passenger safety, maintains the bus, and monitors student behavior. A CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements is required, plus a safe driving record.

Paid training to obtain the CDL endorsement is provided. This role involves attending state and district trainings, performing inspections, and ensuring timely attendance and reliable service.

Qualifications

• Attain CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
• Possess a safe driving record as demonstrated by MVR.
• Complete new driver training within ninety days of hire.
• Complete state requirements for Learner's Permit.
• Complete behind-the-wheel training.
• Pass driving assessment.
• Pass the DOT drug screening and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses safely to transport students to and from school, field trips, and extended trips.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical soundness of the bus.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce safety rules.
• Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections.
• Attend required training and complete required paperwork.
• Assist in training adult attendants and supervise student safety.
