Job summary

Young World Physical Education is looking for a reliable part-time Bus Driver for the 2026-2027 school year in Cypress, Texas. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, and must be able to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL). Starting pay is $23.46 per hour, with a total term of employment of 177 days per school year.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass an annual physical in accordance with state law.
• Must show negative on a drug and/or alcohol test.
• Must successfully complete the School Bus Driver Training Program provided by the District.

Responsibilities

• Operate bus safely and efficiently, adhering to traffic laws.
• Provide a safe and positive riding experience for all students.
• Report mechanical problems and perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
• Establish good rapport with students and parents.

Skills

Ability to obtain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)

Satisfactory driving record

Ability to manage student behavior

Effective communication skills

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Completed or enrolled in School Bus Driver Certification course
