Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools is seeking a Standby Driver / Bus Wash at the Transportation Center. Work 8 hours daily, five days a week for a 10-month year, with a starting hourly wage of $25.54 plus a $2.19 stipend.

Must be able to read maps, follow routes, and assist mechanics as needed while maintaining safety and professionalism. Position requires CDL Class B with passenger and school bus endorsements and a current school bus physical; district will assist in obtaining the license.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with passenger and school bus endorsements and a current school bus physical.
• Ability to obtain CDL with endorsements; Bloomington Public Schools will assist.

Responsibilities

• Drive assigned routes as directed by Dispatch.
• Pre-trip buses and ensure buses are plugged in during cold weather.
• Perform thorough cleaning of fleet vehicles and bus wash operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all DOT and district policies.
• Train new wash rack workers and assist mechanics as needed.
• Generate and review daily maintenance and cleaning records.
