Job description

IMMEDIATE HIRING : School Bus Driver (FT) $25 an hour

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS! $25 an hour!

Bus Driver :

• Monday - Saturday.
• 5:30 am to 8:30 am.
• 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
• $25.00 / hr.

Essential Functions :

• Conduct documented pre-trip inspections as required by federal and state laws.
• Operate the vehicle safely before driving while adhering to specific established routes.
• Maintain assigned schedules, including pre-dawn and dusk periods.
• Follow all traffic and transportation laws as outlined in the Bus Driver manual per the Secretary of State.
• Observe safety regulations for school buses and keep emergency exits clear.
• Maintain appropriate fuel levels.
• Enforce safety rules and maintain student discipline on the bus.
• Report undisciplined students and incidents to the appropriate authorities.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills and administer first aid as needed.
• Report mechanical issues or safety deficiencies promptly.
• Secure the bus at the end of shifts and perform final inspections.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, and parents.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean record.
• Pass physical, background checks, and drug/alcohol testing as per federal and state requirements.
• Completion of Michigan School Bus Driver Education course and appropriate CDL certification (C and/or B, P, S).

• Enjoy working with children and be sensitive to their needs.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Free from adverse effects of medication, alcohol, and drugs.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Familiarity with the district’s geographic area.

Physical Requirements :

• Perform duties on a school bus, often in noisy, airborne, or outdoor environments.
• Ability to perform emergency evacuations and communicate via radio.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and using emergency exits.
• Good vision (including night and peripheral vision).
