Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class B license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with children.
• Must pass annual physical and random drug tests.
• Available on short notice, evenings and weekends.
• Basic computer skills for clocking in/out and email.

Responsibilities

• Know and obey all laws and regulations pertaining to school bus drivers.
• Observe school policies regarding supervision and transportation of students.
• Attend all training classes and meetings for bus drivers and other meetings deemed appropriate.
• Ensure transported students observe laws and policies set by Head of School/Director of Transportation.
• Instruct students about safe riding practices and loading/unloading at stops.
• Monitor students on buses and supervise emergency evacuation drills.
• Fill fuel tanks safely and perform daily pre-trip inspections; report defects to Director of Transportation.
• Keep the bus clean and neat at all times.
• Report misconduct or complaints to Director of Transportation or Dean of Students.
• Dress in appropriate school uniform during working hours.
