Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, reporting defects, and maintaining bus cleanliness while following all policies. Candidates must obtain NC bus driver credentials and TSA certification, with the ability to work on site.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible to obtain NC school bus driver license and Asheville City Schools pocket card and TSA certification.
• Must be physically able to sit, stand, walk and drive and lift boxes up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow safety rules and report defects promptly.

Responsibilities

• Operates a school bus on assigned route(s) and schedules to ensure safe transport of students.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and reports defects.
• Obeys traffic laws and school policies while transporting students.
• Maintains order and cleanliness of the bus.
• Submits required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• Undergoes random drug and alcohol screening.
