Job description

ALEDO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT IS SEEKING TO HIRE SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS. VISIT ALEDOISD.ORG/CAREERS AND APPLY TO JOB ID #1957.

Starting salary $23.00/hour
174 calendar days / 6 hours per day


Primary Purpose:

Operate school bus and related equipment to provide safe and orderly transportation of students and other authorized persons on assigned route, to, and from other designated locations.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  1. Clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
  2. Have a safe driving history.
  3. Able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background qualifications process.
  4. Paid training with possibility to earn a CDL and all required endorsements.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  1. Must be 18 years of age.
  2. Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam.
  3. Ability to complete required bus driver safety training.
  4. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  5. Ability to use maps and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to follow routes and locate addresses.
  6. Ability to manage student behavior.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  8. Ability to operate bus.
