Job summary

First Student in Hamden, CT is hiring a Part-Time School Bus Driver to start mornings with student pickup and transport them home in the afternoon. No CDL is required initially, with expert training provided. Eligible for sign-on bonuses of $3,000 for non-CDL and $5,000 for licensed drivers.

You will ensure safe student transport, assist with seating, and may participate in field trips. Flexible split shifts and benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Experienced, Fully Licensed School Bus Drivers*

Experienced drivers who currently hold the required School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements, have no Air Brake restriction (L), and have at least one year of driving experience may be eligible for the $5,000 sign-on bonus. Conditions apply.

As a Part Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You will start students' days with morning pickup before school and transport them safely back home in the afternoon. Additional hours for field trips and special event transportation may be available.

School Bus Driver benefits:

• Pay Details: Dependent on experience and qualifications
• Hourly Rate: $24.30 per hour wage, based on years of service per hour after training completion $275 a year towards a gym membership*
