Compass Transportation is seeking School Bus Drivers to join our team in Chicago, IL. No CDL yet? Paid CDL training at no cost is offered. Base location: 5740 N Tripp Ave, Chicago IL 60646 (base).

As a School Bus Driver, you will transport students safely along designated routes, follow schedules, and maintain a clean, safe bus. Training, a signing bonus, and competitive pay are available; 25–40 hrs/week depending on routes.

Qualifications

• Background checks and drug screening required.
• Valid IL driver’s license with minimal suspensions.
• Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements (training provided).
• Willingness to work morning and afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities

• Drive school buses safely following traffic laws and company rules.
• Ensure student safety and comfort during the ride.
• Stick to AM & PM routes and schedules for pickups/drop-offs.
• Perform pre/post-trip checks and keep bus clean.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, and staff.
• Attend required trainings and meetings.

Compass Transportation is experiencing rapid growth and is currently seeking School Bus Drivers to join our team immediately. If you do not currently possess a CDL, don't worry! We offer paid CDL training at absolutely no cost to you! Our location is at 5740 N Tripp Ave, Chicago IL 60646 (base).

Responsibilities and Duties:

As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, following a designated route and schedule. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

• Drive the school bus safely following traffic laws and company rules.

• Keep students safe and comfortable during the ride.

• Stick to assigned AM & PM routes and schedules for pickups and drop-offs.

• Check the bus before and after each trip to make sure it's working well.

• Keep the bus clean and tidy inside.

• Speak professionally with students, parents, and school staff.

• Handle any concerns with student behavior calmly and politely.

• Go to required training and meetings.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Clean background

• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

• Valid U.S. (IL) driver’s license held for at least 3 years with no suspensions

• Class B CDL License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements (paid training available at no cost to you if you don’t yet have a CDL)

• Willingness to work morning and afternoon shifts as assigned

• Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, up to 40 hours depending on route assignments

• Willing to work on charter trips as needed

• Please bring a copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) to the interview
