Job summary

First Student in Columbus, Ohio is hiring part-time School Bus Drivers to start students’ days with morning pickups and return them safely in the afternoon. Training is provided, and there are opportunities for field trips and special events.

We offer competitive hourly pay of $30.00, a new driver $1,000 sign-on bonus and an experienced driver $2,000 bonus with additional benefits and a flexible part-time schedule that supports weekdays and excludes nights, weekends, holidays, and summers.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL-B with Passenger (P) Endorsement, School Bus (S) Endorsement and Air Brakes.
• New driver sign-on bonus details available.
• Experience not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.

New Driver Sign-On Bonus- $1,000.00

As a Part Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You will start students’ days with morning pickup before school and transport them safely back home in the afternoon. Additional hours for field trips and special event transportation may be available.

Your day as a School Bus Driver will include:

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
