Essential Functions

1. Minimum of 2 years experience driving a commercial or large vehicle (desired)
2. Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License Class B with "P" and "S" Passenger endorsement or training will be provided. No record of DWI or convictions for the past 10 years and acceptable driving records according to Texas Department of Public Safety standards.
3. Must be 21 years of age
4. Must pass pre-employment annual State required physical examination
5. Must pass pre-employment drug test
6. Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check prior to starting employment. Non-refundable fee paid by employee.
7. Follow safety rules when students board and exit buses or cross streets near bus stops.
8. Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles safely and courteously.
9. Check vehicle condition: tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment.
10. Maintain order among pupils during trips to ensure safety.
11. Pick up and drop off students at scheduled neighborhood locations, following strict time schedules.
12. Report bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
13. Drive gasoline, diesel, or electric multi-passenger vehicles to transport students.
14. Prepare and submit reports on passengers, trips, hours, mileage, fuel, or fares.
15. Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
16. Keep bus interiors clean.
17. Read maps and follow geographic directions.
18. Report delays, accidents, or traffic issues via phone or radio.
19. Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation for passenger comfort.
20. Escort small children across roads and highways.
21. Make minor vehicle repairs.

Skills & Abilities

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: 2+ years preferred

Position requires occasional movement, frequent activity, and constant activity as specified.

Work Environment

Primarily in a motor vehicle with a controlled atmosphere and moderate noise level, with occasional outdoor activities.
