Job summary

Summit School Services seeks a Fleet Technician I to support our school bus fleet in Eastlake, OH. You will diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline vehicle systems, perform preventive maintenance, and complete safety inspections to ensure routes depart safely and on time.

You will work with the Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor to identify repairs, log labor hours, and uphold safety and regulatory compliance. CDL may be preferred; ASE certification desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years medium/heavy truck fleet repair experience.
• Experience verifiable via prior employer or documentation (pay stubs, W-2).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy truck systems per skill level.
• Perform engine adjustments, rebuilds, and test drives to verify quality repairs.
• Complete required safety inspections and sign-offs before releasing vehicles.
• Log labor hours, parts used, and completed work in maintenance system.
