Job summary

First Student is hiring a Diesel Technician to service our Jackson, MS fleet. This full-time day shift offers steady year-round work with competitive pay and benefits.

You will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability for students and families in the community. Requirements include 1–3 years of diesel/auto experience or related technical training, a valid driver’s license, and CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent technical school education and experience.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections; complete work orders accurately.
