Job summary

Kent Consortium is seeking a Buildings Operations Support to maintain safe, clean, and attractive school facilities. The role involves custodial duties, grounds upkeep, basic repairs, and equipment maintenance under the Building Operations Supervisor.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to pass a physical exam, and the capacity to work with students and staff. It includes opening/closing duties and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Meets required physical examination
• Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certification or demonstrated progress towards obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law

Responsibilities

• Keeps all buildings and premises neat and clean, including sidewalks and play areas
• Shovels, plows, and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas and steps as needed
• Checks daily that exit doors are open and panic bolts work during occupancy
• Sweeps classrooms daily and dusts furniture
• Cleans corridors after school and during the day when needed
• Disinfects toilet floors and cleans fixtures and drinking fountains daily
• Washes windows on inside and outside at least twice yearly
• Keeps grounds free from garbage and debris
• Performs yard-keeping chores to maintain safe, attractive grounds
• Maintains floors in a clean, attractive state and preserved condition
• Makes minor building repairs as capable
• Reports major repairs promptly to supervisor
• Maintains motors and HVAC equipment on schedule
• Reports damage to school property promptly
• Remains on the premises during school hours and during authorized non-school hours
• Opens and closes the building daily and ensures secure doors/windows
• Keeps an inventory of supplies and requisitions replacements in advance
• Conducts ongoing general maintenance, upkeep and repair
• Moves furniture/equipment as needed for activities
• Complies with trash disposal laws and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
