Job summary

AHS Staffing is seeking a local contract School Behavioral Health Technician for a local contract job in Colorado Springs, CO. This paraprofessional role supports students with special education needs in a school-based, in-person setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with academics, implementing IEP accommodations, supporting behavioral and social goals, and collaborating with teachers and therapists. 35 hours/week, 33 weeks, pay up to $28/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• School-based paraprofessional or related experience is a plus.
• Ability to work with students with varied needs (academic, behavioral, communication, and functional).
• Strong communication, patience, reliability and teamwork are essential.
• Must meet district and state requirements for school-based paraprofessional employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and individualized support to students with special education needs.
• Assist students with academic activities and implement classroom instruction.
• Support behavioral, social-emotional, communication, and functional goals as needed.
• Follow teacher directions and assist with IEP accommodations and supports.
• Help students with routines, transitions, and participation throughout the school day.
• Provide supervision and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Assist with daily living or personal care needs when required by the classroom or student population.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and other school team members.
