Job summary

Caron Treatment Centers seeks a Youth Prevention Program Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports K-12 and college youth with prevention and intervention services for substance use and mental health topics.

Work is on-site at local schools and child-serving agencies with a 25-hour weekly seasonal schedule (August–June). Hourly rate starts at $25.00/hr, serving Northern VA counties, Montgomery County MD, and parts of DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, education, counseling, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of youth development and substance use prevention principles.
• Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Effective presentation and group facilitation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to work with school professionals and parents.

Responsibilities

• Implement evidence-informed prevention curricula and strategies in schools and youth-serving settings.
• Provide presentations, workshops, and trainings for youth, caregivers, educators, and community members.
• Deliver intervention services and referrals for students as needed.
• Promote prevention programs and distribute outreach materials to schools and youth-serving agencies.
• Coordinate with schools and coalitions to expand service reach and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Track participation data, prepare reports, and support program evaluation and documentation.
