Job summary

The Center for Youth in Rochester seeks a CD Prevention Counselor to deliver school-based crisis intervention and prevention counseling for youth. The role includes individual, family, and group counseling, plus case management and coordination with school staff and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with minimum one year of counseling experience (or equivalent education/experience).
• Master's degree/certifications such as CPP/ICSP/CASAC and advanced training in chemical dependency prevention are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and comprehensive assessments for students.
• Provide school-based crisis intervention and individual/family/group prevention counseling.
• Perform case management and coordinate with school staff and partner agencies.
• Develop Individual Service Plans with youth and link to referrals as needed.
• Attend school meetings, referral meetings, and school events.
• Coordinate and facilitate groups, workshops, and trainings as requested.
• Advocate for youth and provide transportation when necessary per policy.
• Other duties as assigned.
