Job summary

Youth Guidance seeks a Direct Service Intern in Chicago, IL to support school-based programs and community outreach. This internship provides supervised, hands-on experience with youth, including individual and group sessions under licensed staff guidance.

Applicants are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a related field and must be earning academic credit. On-site supervision and regular team meetings are part of the experience.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree.
• Currently seeking school credit through an internship.

Responsibilities

• Observe, co-facilitate, or facilitate group and individual sessions in school settings.
• Conduct assessments on youth engaged in YG programs.
• Provide family and crisis intervention as needed.
• Perform weekly required documentation and administrative tasks.
• Participate in staff development and required training.
• Participate in YG committees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
