Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a School Based Therapist to deliver individualized counseling, case management, and support services at partner schools in Howard/Cooper County. On-site services during school hours aim to foster academic success and well-being for students.

You will conduct clinical assessments, deliver interventions, coordinate access to community resources, and participate in collaborative treatment planning with school staff.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in licensure-eligible field (Counseling, Psychology, Social Work).
  • On-track to licensure: PLPC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, PLMFT/LMFT.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized counseling at school sites during operating hours.
  • Establish and manage a caseload per supervisory guidelines.
  • Support academic success through prevention, intervention, and referrals.
  • Participate in collaborative treatment planning with school teams.
  • Respond to emotional crises and provide emergency support.
  • Coordinate follow-up services and continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with school counselors to access community resources.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and interventions for students and families.
  • Serve as a liaison to ensure services reach all family members.
