Job summary

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES GROUP in Wisconsin is seeking School-Based Therapists to deliver intervention inside schools for the Burlington Area School District. The role includes individual and group therapy, education/consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed.

Hours are typically Monday–Friday with a 9-month school year; part-time at start with opportunity to move into full-time. Compensation includes $22.00/hour for training licenses and $28.00/hour for fully licensed

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required and licensure to provide mental health therapy in Wisconsin.
  • Pre-licensed therapists are welcome; supervision provided.
  • Experience with families, children, and teens is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess therapeutic needs and complete formal assessments.
  • Create and review treatment plans; provide psychotherapy per plan.
  • Intervene in emergencies/crisis; advocate for clients.
  • Address family systems and mental health issues via individual/family/group counseling.
  • Organize group, individual, and family activities.
  • Coordinate with schools and school personnel; maintain communications with providers.

Are you a Wisconsin State Licensed or in-training Therapist who enjoys working with adolescents and serving your community? We are now accepting resumes for a part-time, leading into full-time, mental health therapist across our School-Based programs for Burlington Area School District!


School-Based therapists go directly into the school to provide intervention, including: individual and group therapy, education/consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed.


PSG/CIP is a multi-service community-based social services organization that fulfills its mission of helping individuals and families to achieve their greatest potential through dynamic, cost effective and innovative programming responsive to the needs of diverse communities.


Candidates should have an interest in providing services to students K-12 in a school setting. Those with experience working with schools, an understanding of family systems and the effects and treatment of children and teens who have suffered emotional trauma are also preferred.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SCHOOL-BASED THERAPIST:



  • Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.

  • Create and review client treatment plans and provide psychotherapy in accordance with the treatment plans.

  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling.

  • Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.

  • Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed.

  • Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.


LOCATION AND HOURS: Position is based at assigned school locations within Burlington Area School District.


Hours vary dependent on the school hours but typically will be Monday-Friday between 7:30-5:00pm. Part-time status at beginning of employment with the opportunity to move into full-time; 40 hours per week. Position operates during 9-month school year, with the opportunity to continue working part-time through summer months.

SALARY: Depending on experience and licensure; $22.00 per hour for training licenses and $28.00 per hour for fully licensed therapist.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • All applicants must possess a Master's Degree and licensure to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin; LPC, LPC-IT, APSW, or LCSW or be eligible to obtain one.

  • Pre-licensed therapists are also welcome to apply, and supervision is provided as part of the work environment.
