Job summary

Central Clinic Behavioral Health in Cincinnati, Ohio, is seeking a School Based Therapist who will provide trauma-informed counseling services in school settings. Responsibilities include consulting with teachers, using evidence-based techniques for improving student behavior, and providing crisis intervention as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree in counseling or social work, possess Ohio licensure, and have at least three years of mental health counseling experience. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work or other mental health related field.
  • Ohio licensure in either counseling or social work.
  • At minimum 3 years' experience in providing mental health counseling.
  • Experience in an urban school setting preferred.
  • Spanish bilingual therapist is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally sensitive and trauma informed counseling services.

  • Use evidence-based techniques to improve behaviors in children and families.

Position Summary
  • Provide culturally sensitive and trauma informed counseling services to individuals, groups, and families in schools and in an office setting.
  • Provide case consultation to teachers regarding appropriate classroom management strategies for specific student behaviors.
  • Use evidence-based counseling techniques and strategies to help children and parents improve their behaviors. Help parents understand their children\'s behaviors and recommend treatment/referral.
  • As appropriate and requested, participate as part of the school intervention assistance team in determining student intervention plans.
  • Communicate regularly with school administration about progress with students.
  • Provide prevention programs to targeted groups of students when requested.
  • Provide social skills and character-building psychoeducation to students in the classroom.
  • Provide crisis intervention to students, linking them with further services, if needed.
  • Monitor behavioral progress of students, including implementation of intervention plans.
  • Guard the students\' and family\'s right to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Complete appropriate case paperwork and records.
  • Complete program outcomes and evaluation measurements.
  • Participate in inter-agency School Crisis Team, responding to crisis at other schools as assigned.
  • Participate in Clinic and Ready to Learn team meetings.
  • Assume other duties as needed and appropriate to position, and requested by supervisor, i.e. work as the primary contact person at the school, attend student services team team meetings, school staff meetings, as well as partner team meetings and communicate effectively with Ready to Learn (RtL)-Roberts team about dynamics and procedures.
