Job summary

Centerstone in Alton, IL, is seeking a School-Based Support Specialist to deliver in-school mental health services, helping students build resilience and succeed academically. You will provide individualized care based on treatment plans, collaborate with school staff and families, and coordinate with other providers to support whole-child wellness.

Qualifications

  • One of: Bachelor's in Psychology, Social Work or related human services field.
  • Bachelor's in an unrelated field with two years of related experience.
  • Four-year combination of higher education and two years of related experience.
  • Associate’s degree in Behavioral Health Support.
  • Four years of qualifying experience in mental health, substance use, or developmental disability services.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver mental health services to students on school premises.
  • Support treatment goals using evidence-based strategies.
  • Manage a student caseload and coordinate care with other service providers.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and participate in client staffings.
  • Provide crisis response and follow-up, including outreach for missed appointments.
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with agency, state, and clinical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with school personnel, families, and other stakeholders.
