Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a school-based behavioral health specialist to deliver individualized interventions and support youth across academics and emotions. You will maintain caseload management and coordinate with families, schools, and community providers to ensure quality, person-centered care.

The role emphasizes crisis response, documentation accuracy, and ongoing training to adapt to student needs while promoting resilience and recovery in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience with case management, rehabilitation, and treatment planning in behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of challenges impacting youth with mental health and/or substance use needs.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, schools, and community partners.
  • Strong communication skills, including documentation and de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and coordinate services across multiple systems.
  • Comfort using electronic health records and standard office technology.
  • Strong initiative with a commitment to high-quality, person-centered care.
  • Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in crisis situations.
  • Qualifying experience includes providing recovery and resiliency services, teaching coping and life skills, supporting success in school/community/employment settings, or implementing treatment plan objectives.

Requirements

  • One of the following educational/experience pathways: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or related field; bachelor's degree in an unrelated field plus 2 years of relevant behavioral health experience; any 4-year combination of higher education and 2 years of qualifying experience; Associate's degree in Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support; or 4 years of full-time qualifying experience
  • Qualifying experience includes providing individual or group recovery and resiliency services, teaching coping and life skills, supporting success in school/community/employment settings, or implementing treatment plan objectives
