Job summary

Region Ten Community Services Board seeks a Student Assistance Specialist for Charlottesville Middle School. This full‑time, 11‑month position provides crisis intervention, mental health assessment and short‑term clinical support within a school setting.

You will deliver prevention education, collaborate with schools and community partners, and support families with behavioral health strategies while maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mental health field preferred.
• One year of mental health experience required; two+ years preferred.
• License (LPC or LCSW) or license-eligible preferred (as defined by registration of supervision with the appropriate Licensing Board.)

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention services and crisis counseling to selected children and families.
• Offer behavioral coaching, psycho-education/skill building, and emotion support.
• Engage in outreach to provide prevention programs for children, adolescents, families and communities.
• Coordinate with schools, human service agencies and treatment teams to implement prevention programs.
