About the job School Based Speech Therapy Opportunity

POSITION DETAILS

WellTech Partners is working with with a school system in Louisiana that is seeking alicensed and experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). The SLP will primarily be responsible for identifying students with communication disabilities and planning and implementing appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impacts on student success.

SLPs are expected to assess students communication skills, develop treatment plans, provide speech and language therapy in various settings, consult with a students team regarding communication needs, complete speech evaluations, instruct eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies, participate as a Pupil Appraisal Team member on other disability evaluations, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Please note:

The SLP will not be responsible for DUTY assignments.

Special Education Coordinators and additional Case Managers are available to support with caseload management, compliance, and student services.

There are three Speech Therapy Assistants (SLPAs) available to support therapy delivery and caseload needs.

This role operates on a 10-month work schedule each year, plus generous holiday time off.

Compensation:

Salary range: $60,000–$79,000, depending on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Establish child-specific learning goals for each student on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and use benchmark and baseline testing to monitor progress.

Effectively communicate students progress and needs with parents and the teaching team.

Plan and implement activities to target the specific speech-language needs of students.

Lead students to develop their own critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Guide student behavior through respect, positive reinforcement, and structured support.

Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers and other members of a students team to support educational and emotional success.

Participate in school and network-wide coaching, maintaining a reflective and solution-oriented mindset.

Celebrate the role educators and clinicians play as positive influences in the school and community.

WHAT YOU BRING

Masters Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Speech Pathology

Licensure by the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

Certification by the Louisiana Department of Education
