Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services seeks a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to support students in La Plata, MD. You will assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders within an educational setting while collaborating with school staff and families.

You will provide evidence-based interventions, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings. Relevant MD licensure and CCC-SLP are required, with hybrid work options available in some assignments.

Qualifications

  • MD State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • CCC-SLP from ASHA (unless CF).

Responsibilities

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' communication and language development within educational settings. We are a therapist- and woman-owned and operated company.

Position Overview:

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment.

Requirements:
  • ASHA Certification
  • Maryland SLP State Licensure or willing to obtain

Additional information: This role would include working with school-aged students of varying ages and disabilities, pending district need. The district is open to candidate who would be willing to do hybrid work as well.

Responsibilities
  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications:
