Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to support Calvert County Public Schools in Prince Frederick, MD. This full-time role runs from the start of the school year (August 17) through December, with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

The SLP will perform assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based interventions, collaborate with educators and families, monitor progress, and participate in IEP

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• MD State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP from ASHA (or CF).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
• Dedication to culturally competent, client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to improve speech, articulation, fluency, and language.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and the school-based team to support classroom participation.
• Monitor progress and adapt treatment plans as needed.
• Guide and educate parents, teachers, and staff to facilitate carryover into the classroom.

Position Overview

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Responsibilities

• The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
• Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
• Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
• Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• MD State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
• Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.
