Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to support pre-K through high school in Aurora, CO. The role requires Colorado SLP licensure (or willingness) and involves collaboration with educators and families to improve students’ communication skills.

The position is in-person with duties including assessments, treatment planning, progress documentation, and participation in IEP meetings.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Colorado Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or willingness to obtain.
  • Colorado Educator Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • ASHA CCC-SLP certification or CF completion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
  • Commitment to culturally competent, client-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions to improve articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and school-based team to support classroom participation.
  • Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate parents, teachers, and staff on strategies to carry over skills to the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with research and best practices in school-based SLP.
  • Participate in IEP and team meetings and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' communication and language development within educational settings. Position Overview

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment.

Requirements: Colorado SLP License or willing to obtain a Colorado Board of Education License (Teaching License) or willing to obtain

Additional Details: This is an in-person role supporting students ages pre-K through High School, depending on district placement.

Responsibilities
  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Colorado Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. (if applicable)

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
