Great Prairie AEA Ottumwa Office is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year on a prorated contract, with 2 orientation days in the first year. The role serves Region 1–6 as needed and offers IPERS, a generous leave package and a monthly cafeteria allotment of $1,050.00.

The position requires a Master’s in speech-language pathology and Iowa licensure with appropriate endorsement. Starting Aug 11, 2026, a comprehensive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution.
• Iowa license with B-21 Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement, or DOH license with BOEE Statement of Professional Recognition.

Responsibilities

• Supports learning environments for all students and provides services to individuals with communicative disabilities (birth-21).
• Serves as liaison among AEA, districts, families and community.
• Implements strategies to enhance educational programming for learners.
• Provides ongoing support to staff regarding applicable rules and laws.
• Gathers information by observing and sampling communication behaviors from multiple sources.
• Delivers continuum of remedial services including home programming and classroom interventions.
• Disseminates information about speech-language services to teachers, parents and LEA/AEA groups.
