The Georgia Department of Education is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Georgia School for the Deaf located in Cave Spring, Georgia. The Speech-Language Pathologist assesses and treats individuals with hearing, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

This position may provide auditory training, fit hearing aids, and select alternative communication systems while teaching individuals how to use them effectively.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in SLP or audiology and Georgia licensure.
  • One year of experience at Aud/Speech Pathologist 1 or equivalent.
  • Current Georgia licensure and/or certification to practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat individuals with hearing, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
  • Conduct screenings, evaluations, and diagnostic assessments to determine communication needs.
  • Fit hearing aids and provide auditory training, as appropriate.
  • Select alternative and augmentative communication systems and instruct individuals in their use.
  • Monitor, document, and report client or student progress.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and professional development activities as required.
  • Maintain records and documentation in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • May serve as a lead worker and provide guidance to assigned staff.
