Job summary

Blast Intermediate Unit 17, BLaST - Tioga County, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our school-based team immediately. The role involves providing comprehensive speech and language therapy, assessments, screenings, and collaboration with teachers to support students’ IEP goals.

The qualified candidate will hold a Master's degree in speech-language pathology, be eligible for or possess PA certification as a Speech and Language Therapist, and ideally have

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in speech and language pathology.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence preferred.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification as Speech and Language Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a resource to school staff in developing a balanced oral communication program.
  • Guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected speech and language impairments.
  • Provides thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments.
  • Conducts screenings to identify speech-handicapped children at regular intervals.
  • Assists in referrals to community agencies and specialists.
  • Provides individualized therapy programs to meet students' needs and IEП goals.
  • Performs progress monitoring and assessment toward IEP goals.
  • Collaborates with classroom teachers to implement therapy activities.
  • Provides information and counseling to parents and families as appropriate.
  • Maintains a valid state driver’s license and ability to drive as needed.
