Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for a school-based, contracted position near New Bohemia, VA for the 26/27 school semester. This role offers the chance to work closely with certified speech-language pathologists, supporting students with speech and language goals in a collaborative educational environment.

You’ll deliver direct therapy, document progress, and help develop instructional materials while adhering to IEPs, district policies, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program and active SLPA licensure for the state.
• Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred.
• Solid understanding of speech, language, and communication disorders.
• Ability to follow therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team approach.
• Adaptable, organized, and committed to student growth.

Responsibilities

• Deliver speech and language therapy sessions to students, as directed by supervising SLP.
• Implement specialized therapy techniques and document student progress.
• Assist with developing and modifying instructional materials to support student goals.
• Maintain regular communication with SLP, educators, and parents regarding student needs and progress.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with all school policies and federal/state regulations regarding special education services.
