Qualifications

• Master's degree in an approved program for Speech Language Pathology.
• Must be eligible or possess a Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology license.
• A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
• Employ special educational strategies to develop language, cognition, and memory.
• Instruct students using phonetics and multi-sensory techniques to meet needs.
• Modify the general education curriculum for students with disabilities.
• Plan balanced instruction and activities; observe, question, and investigate.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and IEP priorities.
• Confer with professionals to develop IEPs and supervise students' development.
• Maintain accurate student records and prepare required reports.
• Establish clear objectives for lessons and communicate them to students.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed and collaborate with the MDT.
• Assist in data collection for classroom interventions.
