Job summary

Amesbury Public Schools Sgt Jordan Shay Memorial (Formerly Amesbury Elem.) invites applications for a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant. This full-time role aligns with the 184-day school calendar and provides a salary between $58,859 and $104,074 per year, under the current contract.

Responsibilities include establishing collaborative relationships with students and families, implementing IEP services under supervision, maintaining progress data, and coordinating with the supervising SLP.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in speech-language pathology from an accredited college or university.
• Possess and maintain valid certification with the Board of Registration for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts and federal special education regulations.
• Experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) preferred.
• Experience working in an educational setting or other appropriate experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with students, families, colleagues and supervisors.
• Develop and adhere to a daily schedule in alignment with school hours and in accordance with the current contract.
• Meet with the supervising speech pathologist weekly to discuss progress and provide direction.
• Implement IEP services under the direction of the supervising SLP in classroom and pull-out settings.
• Modify and differentiate lessons to meet student needs with guidance from the supervising SLP.
• Maintain progress data and assist in required progress reporting.
• Ensure IEP paperwork is provided within required timelines.
• Implement behavior management programs as designed by certified staff.
