Job summary

Watertown Public Schools seeks a School Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders at Watertown High School and Transition Academy.

You will collaborate with educators, families, and a multidisciplinary team to develop IEPs/504 plans, provide therapy, monitor progress, document findings, and ensure compliance with IDEA and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Connecticut State Department of Education certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist (endorsement 061).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments for referred students.
• Interpret assessment results and provide written reports in compliance with state and district guidelines.
• Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
• Design and implement evidence-based therapy plans tailored to students' individual needs.
• Provide direct and consultative speech and language services in individual, small group, or classroom settings.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Implements assistive technology plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, special educators, counselors, administrators, and families to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment.
• Provide training and resources to staff and families regarding speech and language development and strategies.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA, 504, and CT State Department of Education regulations.
• Attend and contribute to Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and other relevant school meetings.
• Provides consultation on the use of assistive technology to staff and parents
