Position is full-time, salary ranges from $49,000 to $99,440 per year with a potential $5,000 hiring bonus. Certification and CCC-SLP eligibility are required; travel within the school building is expected.

Qualifications

• Current and valid certification as a teacher of speech and hearing impaired children by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• CCC-SLP certification or eligible for fellowship year.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource to school staff in development of a balanced oral communication and speech improvement program.
• Provide a therapeutic program to meet individual speech and language needs.
• Assess speech, voice, hearing and language impairments on request.
• Develop individualized therapy plans to address handicaps.
• Confer with principals, teachers and parents on student progress.
• Provide in-service education and act as a consultant to teachers and staff.
• Maintain thorough records.
• Assist in screening procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building principal or Superintendent.
