Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in New Braunfels, TX is seeking a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students' communication and language development within educational settings. You will assess, plan, and deliver evidence-based interventions, collaborating with teachers and families to promote classroom participation and social success.

Requirements include TX State licensure as an SLP, ASHA CCC-SLP (or CF), and TEA credentials.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • TX State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Educator Certificate (if applicable).
  • CCC-SLP from ASHA unless CF.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
  • Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.
