Job description

Overview

Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) with school-based experience is needed for the 2025-2026 academic year to provide 1:1 nursing support for a high school student in Washougal, WA. This contract position involves accompanying the student on the bus during mornings and afternoons and coordinating with educators and healthcare staff to ensure student safety and well-being throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a high school student with special medical needs
• Administer and manage tube feeding according to care plans
• Perform oral suctioning and respond to other medical needs as required
• Accompany the student on the school bus during transport to and from school
• Coordinate with educators and healthcare staff to ensure student safety and well-being throughout the school day
• Document nursing interventions and progress to maintain clear communication with the care team

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with relevant school nursing experience
• Demonstrated skills in tube feeding and oral suctioning
• Comfortable providing one-on-one nursing support in school and transportation settings
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong observational and communication skills tailored to school-age children

Location: Washougal, WA. Preference for candidates residing in or near Vancouver, WA, including neighboring areas.
