Job summary

Care Options for Kids in Kentucky is seeking a School-Based Registered Nurse to join our team. The RN will provide direct medical care, health education, and preventive services to students in the school setting.

The ideal candidate will have a valid PA RN license, a BSN preferred, and be prepared to develop IHPs and EAPs, coordinate with families and staff, and maintain accurate health records in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BSN preferred; ADN with relevant experience considered.
• School Nurse Certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid and emergency care.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain immunization and health records per state regulations.
• Develop IHPs and EAPs for students with medical conditions.
• Coordinate care between students, families, healthcare providers, and school staff.
• Maintain confidential health records in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA.

• $37-$42/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School-BasedRegistered Nurseat COFK!The RN will play an essential role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students by providing direct medical care, health education, and preventive services. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with students, parents, and school staff.

Experience/Requirements

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, emergency care, and chronic disease management.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments while monitoring student responses.
• Maintain and ensure student immunization and health records comply with state regulations.
• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for students with medical conditions.
• Serve as a liaison between students, families, healthcare providers, and school staff to coordinate care and accommodations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.

Education/License/Certification

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) in PA.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate’s degree (ADN) with relevant experience considered.
• School Nurse Certification or willingness to obtain.
