Seattle Public Schools in Washington state seeks a position to implement the SBIRT program at Ballard High School, funded for 2026-27 with potential extension. The role involves coordinating prevention activities, counseling students, and connecting them with school and community resources.

Reporting to the School Administrator or Prevention Manager, you will collaborate with staff, maintain records, prepare reports, and participate in meetings at Ballard High School and in the district’s

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree OR two years of college (72 quarter hours or 48 semester hours) with ability to instruct reading, writing and math.
• Two years of related work experience in social or human services, educational or community-based programs.
• 12 hours of drug/alcohol training.
• Valid State of Washington Driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
• Criminal Justice fingerprint background check will be required.

Responsabilités

• Conducts prevention activities (education programs, parental education, training) for the purpose of meeting District program goals.
• Coordinates ATOD and violence prevention activities for the purpose of meeting goals of the Prevention and Intervention Program.
• Evaluates program materials and collateral for the purpose of providing information to students and staff.
• Identifies high-risk students for the purpose of involving other District staff in student's program.
• Interfaces with the public and private agencies for the purpose of representing the District and the Prevention and Intervention Program providing prevention and treatment.
• Maintains a variety of records and/or reports for the purpose of documenting department goals and tracking information.
• Provides counseling on issues (e.g. anger management, problem solving, ATOD recovery, crisis intervention) for the purpose of aiding students in ATOD and violence prevention and recovery.
• Refers students to school and community services for the purpose of providing resources to aid students in ATOD prevention.
